Railroad Engine Roundhouse in Greenfield Village, Michigan

Railroad Engine Roundhouse in Greenfield Village, Michigan

Taken: October 19, 2014

This roundhouse is located in Greenfield, Michigan—the village that is made up of buildings from all around the country. The Ford foundation has moved many original buildings, such as the Wright Brothers bicycle shop and this roundhouse from their original locations.

The roundhouse is an interesting building because of its history and use, but visually, it is painted gray and sort of plain. I used Corel PaintShop Pro4X’s Effects function and selected Chrome to achieve the “shiny” effect. Though certainly not realistic, it dramatically shows of the buildings geometric patterns
