Chickahominy Sunset, C. 1952

This sunset, captured by my mother in 1952, was taken from the farm where I grew up. The image was photographed on Kodachrome 25 transparency film using an Argus C3 rangefinder camera (that I still have!). The slide was scanned and converted to a digital image some 60 years after it was taken. If “red at night” is a “sailor’s delight,” the next day must have been a beauty.
