Photo of the Week – June 24, 2015
Where do you suppose this photo was taken?
It reminds me of photos of trees taken in the desert southwest, or at higher elevations in the Rocky or Sierra Mountains.
This gnarled tree is located atop Stone Mountain, Georgia.
There are two ways to the top of Stone Mountain: (1) Cable car, and (2) a hiking trail up the “back” of the mountain. The trail is a relatively easy mile-long hike to the top, and well worth experience. But then, the cable car provides some excellent vistas of the front face of the mountain, the lake, and the “village” below.
