A Month of Photo Effects (Click on an image for a full-frame view.)
If there is one thing I hate as a photographer, it is power lines (unless our local red-tailed hawk is sitting on the power line over the pasture). There is absolutely nowhere to stand to avoid power lines in a photo of the Fenwick Island Lighthouse. I have heard there may be a program that seeks out and removes power lines with one or two key strokes. If anyone knows of such, I would appreciate a note.
I actually did two things with Fenwick Island Lighthouse. First, I erased the power lines. As I recall it was several hours of painstaking noodling in Corel Paint Pro, but I got it done.
Additionally, I opted to use a line-drawing of the lighthouse in an oval frame for a greeting card. This printed nicely, with just a hint of color, on prepared greeting card stock.
This is the orginal photo before converting it to a drawing.
