Photo of the Week – Hereford Lighthouse, New Jersey

A Month of Photo Effects

Perhaps I am a frustrated sketch artist, and therefore like the sketch renderings I can get from Corel PaintShop Pro. Not all subjects respond to the graphic rendering as well as others—but images with many straight lines—houses for example—seem to respond well.

This is Hereford Lighthouse, along the coast of southern New Jersey. The light, as you can see, is mounted atop the keeper’s house. The beach is fewer than 100 yards behind the structure. The building is now open as a shop. The building and lighthouse are open “in season.”

The lighthouse is in Wildwood, New Jersey. It is easy to miss if you are just casually looking for it because it looks like many other buildings on the local streets. It is worth a visit and there is a nice beach walk on the sea-side of the building.
