Photo of the Week
Introduction: Looking Forward to this Week
Tomorrow we leave for Virginia and the annual Oyster Festival in Urbana Virginia. You may recall an earlier blog about oyster farming–this is where we are going. We will be volunteering at a booth at the festival that raises money for a local church. The booth specializes in ham oyster biscuits, or as we call them “HOBs.” I am told it will be hard to keep up with the demand, but I do know that our oysters will be coming from the shell room shown in the photo. This is where fresh-caught oysters arrive at the shucking house. Within a couple of hours, all of these oysters will have been shucked. For the festival, the freshly shucked oysters are delivered directly to the booth and folks are enjoying oysters caught within the past 24 hours.
Now for the disclaimer: This pasts week has required that I send my primary computer out for service. To ensure connectivity, I purchased a small laptop. I have not yet loaded my preferred programs including photo processing programs on this computer. The basic programs included barely provide cropping and no color adjustments or other fine tuning.
