Spherical Valve that controls the water flow through one of the combination generator/water pumps.
Atop Raccoon Mountain, just west of Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a 500-plus acre man-made lake or reservoir. Water in this lake is used to generate electricity by the Tennessee Valley Authority. This valve controls the flow of water through a power generating turbine. The opening in the valve is more than six feet in diameter–that is a lot of water flow!
This valve is on display near the underground power generating plant.
